Academic Achievement Scholarship Program

At Saint Catherine Greek Orthodox Church, we are proud to recognize and reward the accomplishments of our high school seniors through our Academic Achievement Scholarship Program. This initiative provides scholarships to qualified students who have been accepted into accredited colleges or universities, supporting their educational journey.

Purpose

  • Celebrate the achievements of our high school seniors.

  • Strengthen our connection with parishioners and the broader community.

  • Align with similar programs offered by other Greek Orthodox churches.

  • Expand the benefits for our stewards and elevate our church's image.

Scholarship Types

  1. Parish Scholarship: $500–$1,000, funded by donations and overseen by the Scholarship Committee.

  2. Plakias Scholarship**: $500, supported by interest earned on the Plakias Fund account.

  3. Named Scholarship: Customizable scholarships sponsored by individuals or families, with donor-defined criteria.

Key Details

  • Funding: Annual donations and fundraising efforts.

  • Eligibility: Stewards for at least 3 consecutive years, GPA of 3.3 or higher, class ranking, acceptance into an accredited college, and a short essay.

Key Dates:

  • March 1: Applications available.

  • May 26**: Deadline to submit applications.

  • June 8**: Scholarship awards announced.
